This painting always reminds me of my first hike when I arrived in Wyoming in the fall of 2008. It was suppose to be a 4.5 mile hike in the evening. I hiked for about an hour and half and the sun was getting low in the valley when I saw a bridge was out over a cold running stream. I had a choice, hike back at sunset through some thick woods in bear country, or hike another 4 miles through the willow flats to the other lodge. I chose to hoof it 4 miles, and nearly got hypothermia as I was sweating as the temperature drops severely at night in the mountains.  I found out later the willow flats were some of best habitat for Grizzlies!
